Morning Update: 11-23-21

The deadline for the Chapter 1 update is bearing down upon us, and I won't lie... I'm stressed about it! HOWEVER, a new driver dropped for my video card, which from all initial impressions, will literally cut my render times at least in half.

For an example, I'll use a screenshot that happens to be the image currently rendering. Thankfully it's spoiler-free. Anyway, as you can see, the image fidelity is already pretty damn good, and the iteration count is only at 99. I tried rendering this out before updating my drivers (and the slow progress is what put me over the edge to find a way to reduce time), it got to iteration 436, an hour and something into the rendering process, and was still too grainy to make out details like the gap between the wooden slats on the floor, and the creases on the palm.

So as you can clearly see, the shiny new drivers are definitely a huge boon. Older scenes with graininess will be start getting fixed with the release of Chapter 2. This will include renders coming in Chapter 1, that I've already render out to this point.

-Sincerely,

R.S. Cree
